I was a bit bummed when I found out that the HH found in WA State
was the other Poison Ivy. That got me thinking about my 2
lonely "children", Haircut Rabbit and Poison Ivy. Whoever finds them
could they please email me offlist.
OR
I have found that Defygravity has the site for our travellers. You
go to Groups Home at the top right of this page. Then join, a group
letterbox_travellers. Go to links and click on Hitcher Tracking Page
by Wanda and Pete. Wanda and Pete have a wonderful HH page. All HH's
out there are already listed. All you have to do when you have found
a HH, is to post where you found it, when, and who found it. NOT
where you plan on placing it. Post in the traveller site or to
wandaandpete.
I know that many boxers would like to know where their HH's have
travelled. I see posts just about everyday where the question is "Has
anybody seen?" or "Does anyone know the whereabouts of?"
Posting on this site will help diminish the same old questions
and provide a place for those of us that would like to know.
Thanks to Defygravity and Wanda and Pete,

I was aware of Pete and Wanda's HH tracking page, and have reported
HH info to them when it didn't get picked up off the letterbox-usa
list.
I was not aware of the other Yahoo list, letterbox_travellers, until
psycomommy's post. If I may ask, why two separate groups? Wouldn't
it be easier just to post HH reports to the letterbox-usa list,
perhaps with specific verbage in the subject (i.e. "HH Status")?
This is after all where we report box conditions and boxes that are
missing, etc. Why wouldn't we also report HH finds here?
Having to read and post to separate lists just complicates things and
seems to be a bit redundant. Just my two cents...

---Apparently not everyone wants to read about their HH"s. For
example the person who sent out the other Poison Ivy. I believe that
would be Trish Kurdgiel. If I understand one of her posts correctly,
she just likes to know that it still is out there and moving around.
It's not too difficult or confusing to have a tracking page at all.
What I find difficult is having to scroll through the archives to
follow what I'm looking for. Even when I type in something specific,
I have to filter through stuff I don't need. Letterbox_traveller
has a talk list that you can chat on also. It is laid out just like
this site.

Understandable if somebody doesn't want to read about a HH, then
don't open the message I guess.
What I meant by complicated was not "difficult," rather just another
one more procedure, one more place to go and report things. I am not
much of a chat person and this is the first time I've joined a Yahoo
group. Other than a couple of newsgroups I read occasionally, my
computer is used primarily for e-mail and work and desktop publishing
and web design, etc. Going to check out various groups to find out
information of the same nature, just seems redundant, especially
since so many people post their HH info here anyway.
I didn't mean to stir the water, just curious why two different
groups. I will just keep doing as I have been doing... if it ain't
broke, don't fix it.
